This session at Barclay Farmstead Museum in Cherry Hill, NJ was one for the books. I’ve been photographing Amy’s family since they had their daughter Alexandra and hired me for a lifestyle newborn session. Every time I photograph their family I’m lucky enough to see the love they share, but this time, it was a different kind of love that I got to capture. Maybe it’s just because I recently became a mom myself, but getting to witness the love between a mother and daughter is so extremely special and truly breathtaking. Even though I was hiding behind the camera, I got to visualize what the true meaning of “mommy and me” means by capturing these images. Actually, thank GOODNESS I was hiding behind the camera because I definitely teared up watching certain moments they shared throughout the session. It was heart warming to see the two of them interact with genuine smiles and laughter. Their admiration for each other brought a smile to my face 100% of the time and for THAT, I thank them. Alex may have just turned one year old, but she definitely already knows who her best friend for life is.
